Love Locks

About a year ago, Allie read an article about kids who have cancer and how sometimes they lose their hair, and that a non-profit called Locks of Love takes donations of real human hair to make wigs for these kids.

Allie decided she was going to grow out her hair and donate 10 inches of hair to Locks of Love. Well, I'm very proud to say that she stuck with it and grew out her hair for a year, despite some bad hair days and frustrations with having super long, thick hair.

Tuesday night was the big night- She had ten inches cut off! She now sports a cute/shaggy bob style hairdo that makes her look much more mature! We will be mailing to Locks of Love a nice big bag of brown hair!

Before and after pictures below as Allie poses with her pink ruler.

  • That is just so cool! I've said it before and I'll say it again, that's one amazing person you're raising, there, Stace. If her hair is anything like yours, it will make a really, really nice wig for someone.

(What a great cut she got, too!)

  • What a wonderful thing for Allie to do.

I'm guessing she's donating enough hair for at least two wigs!
