bits and pieces...
Here's a bit of everything for this post:

- Previous post about Armenian genocide and a little more about Esther Pohl Lovejoy- Esther continued her globe trotting medical work throughout the '20s, '30s, '40s - there is a bust/statue of her in Greece and a hospital named for her in the Phillipines for all the good works she had accomplished. She died in the late 1950s- she's buried in Portland's Lone Fir cemetary.
-An Allie update - Princess Allie, a mere few weeks in to teenager-hood remains a lovely, sweet girl. She's maintaining that A grade average and doing well in all of her classes. She's had a few social kerfluffles, but she's held her head high and I'm proud the maturity she is showing in the vicious world of junior high gossip. She went to youth group camp and she and her cabin-mates won the lip-synching contest.
-Household update- We finally hung pictures on the walls and more fully unpacked a mere 6 months after moving into the "new" place. A visit from J's mom, "B" motivated us. Our house has never been so clean! It was a week long reprieve from our usually slovenly ways. We actually entertained and had people over- whew- exciting! B stayed with us for a week and is now back on her way to Honduras where she is doing missionary work.
-Kittycito update- Just wanted to post a cute picture of kittycito sleeping. He has a new game, He has stolen most of Allie's hair rubber bands and sits them in front of you- your signal to flick it down the hallway, he retrieves it and brings it back and fetches it again- just like a dog. When he is not retrieving, eating, climbing up on things or jumping on me, Allie or J- he sleeps curled up on the couch.

Aww what a cute kittycito :) I am so glas Allie is doing well, and a lot of that credit goes to you and J.
I am glad you are settling in to your new place.

Isn't it funny how we're so motivated to get our stuff together when someone is coming to visit but not for ourselves? I figure that the best way to get moved in is to arrange for house guests or a big dinner party or something a few weeks after moving in.
Now what to do about the stress?

That's great that Allie is weathering all the junior high crap so well. I remember that--and am glad it's behind me.
Could Kittycito be any cuter? Don't think so.
